Your Instructor

Hi! My name is Franceen, I am an artist from the Philippines, currently residing in the Bay Area. I graduated in 2021 with a degree in Animation and have since been working hard to improve my skills before I jump into a full-time job making cartoons for kids. For now, I have decided to pursue other creative endeavors such as lettering and calligraphy, which I discovered late in 2014 when I wanted to send really pretty Christmas cards to my friends and family back home. I attempted to learn calligraphy that year and have been in love with it since!
Over the years, I tried to integrate handlettering wherever I could—writing on the boards when I worked at Starbucks, making pretty signs and gifts for friends’ weddings, and even using a bit of it to promote a children’s book that I illustrated! But I never fully dove into it as much as I would have loved, and what better time to do it than now with such a cool community like Sip & Script?
